One of my favorite channels on my directv satellite tv is Trading Spouses. I normally watch CMT for the shows and not the music, because I am not a big country music fan. Trading Spouses is a good way for me to understand people and how they are different. I also like it because it shows the different cultures within the United States.
The channel is great because my times I will get to see more than one episode in a sitting, which is what I am looking for when it is time to veg out in front of the tv. When I am alone I will watch Trading Spouses with my dinner and a nice cup of coffee and just laugh or wonder about people.
There are some cultures that I will probably never understand but the show teaches me how to see another person’s point of view. I think that it is important for people to know where another person gets his or her ideas and try to understand how and why. This will eliminate the shock value of a new culture or person when we meet them.
The best shows are where a busy mom or organized mom is confronted with a mom who is less than busy or clean. The looks on their faces when they enter the house for the first time are priceless. I am not totally organizes so I would actually love to have another mom come into my home and organize my life a little. It would be a relief. Sometimes it is easier for someone else to show you what you lack in and what you are good at, than it is for you to see it yourself.
