If you have children in the home consider hiring someone to come in and take care of the kids while you are working. It does not have to be all day but maybe for a few select hours when you know that you and your spouse need to concentrate without interruptions. Although one of the reasons you probably wanted to start a home business in the first place is so that you can be at home with your children, but you will not be very effective if they are demanding your attention all day. Your children will have to adjust to the business being in your home the same way you and your spouse are adjusting.

There are some Government grants that are available for EXPANSION OF  businesses (but not to establish a new business). When a government agency makes funds available for a grant, it places an announcement in the Federal Register which is issued every weekday. For the major part, these grants are very specialized.
